The calendar is the community’s what’s-coming-up: parent-org events, meetings, spirit nights, volunteer days — everything in one view instead of scattered across newsletters.

Browse the calendar

1. Open Calendar from the main menu.
2. Flip between the Month view and the Agenda list, whichever suits you. (The agenda hides past events by default — there’s a toggle if you want them.)
3. Tap any event for details — time, place, description, and whether it will remind you (a small bell line notes the reminder timing, or “No reminder”).

Recurring events (the monthly board meeting, weekly practices) show every upcoming occurrence, so you never have to remember the pattern.

Use the legend to filter

Under the header sits the calendar’s legend — one chip per thing on the calendar. Tap a chip to switch that layer off, tap again to bring it back:

• Layers — events, your shifts, open shifts, your sign-ups, deadlines, clearances, announcements.
• Categories — the school’s own event categories, each with its color.
• Outside calendars — some schools also pull in calendars from elsewhere (the parish, athletics, the diocese). Each one is its own colored chip, so if the athletics feed isn’t your family’s thing, one tap turns it off.

Events from an outside calendar are a read-only mirror of wherever they’re published — the details say “Imported from …” — and they never send you reminders or notifications. School-created events can.

Attending an event vs. working it

Worth keeping straight:

• Attending — most calendar events are simply “show up”: no sign-up needed, nothing to claim.
• Working a shift — volunteer shifts are separate, live in Volunteer, have limited spots, and earn service-hour credit. An event that hosts a sign-up says so right in its details, with a Sign up button.

Put it on your own calendar
