What is Lumicura?

A quick tour of what Lumicura is, what you can do with it, and how your school's parent organization uses it.

Lumicura is the app your school’s parent organization uses to run itself — one calm place instead of a patchwork of group texts, email blasts, sign-up links, and shared spreadsheets.

Your school signed up for Lumicura; you use it as a parent, guardian, or staff member at that school. Everything you see inside the app belongs to your school’s community.

What you can do with it

  • Read announcements — official news from the parent organization and school, in one feed you can catch up on anytime.
  • Message other parents — class and committee conversations happen in channels, so you’re automatically in the right rooms for your kids’ grades and your committees.
  • Track your family’s service hours — see your commitment for the year and a running tally of what you’ve earned, with no spreadsheet in sight.
  • Volunteer — browse opportunities, sign up for shifts, and check in with a QR code on the day.
  • See what’s coming up — the school community calendar, which you can also subscribe to from your own phone’s calendar.
  • Find documents — forms, handbooks, and meeting minutes the organization shares.
  • Look things up — your school’s own knowledge base answers questions about how your school runs its programs.

One app, your school’s look

Lumicura is the same tool everywhere, but each school makes it its own: your school’s colors, and sometimes its own names for things. One school’s “Service Hours” is another’s “Share Program” — same feature, different label. These docs always use the neutral name and flag where your school may differ.

Getting access

Accounts are for people connected to the school — your school adds your family to its roster, and that’s what lets you create an account. There’s nothing to buy and no public sign-up. See Sign in and set up your account.

Where it runs

Lumicura works in any modern web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer — and you can install it on your phone’s home screen so it feels like a regular app. There’s no app store download. See Install the app on your phone.
