Change or cancel your sign-up

Plans change. Adjusting a quantity, releasing a slot or booking, what the waitlist does with it, and the cutoffs that lock changes near the day.

Signed up to bring 24 juice boxes and can only manage 12? Claimed Tuesday and Tuesday fell apart? Fix it in the app — it takes seconds, and it puts the item or the time straight back in front of families who can cover it.

Change or cancel

  1. Open Sign-Up SheetsMy sign-ups (or open the sheet itself).
  2. Find your sign-up:
    • On an item, Edit lets you adjust the quantity; Cancel sign-up releases it entirely.
    • On a slot or booking, Cancel releases it.
  3. Confirm. The sheet updates for everyone immediately.

If the slot has a waitlist, canceling promotes the first family in line automatically — your late cancel is their good news, which is exactly why canceling in the app beats quietly not showing up.

The cutoffs

Two limits you may hit, both set per sheet by the organizer:

  • A self-cancel cutoff — close to the day, online changes lock (“the cancellation window has passed”). At that point, message the organizer; they can still adjust the roster.
  • A closed sheet — once a sheet closes, its claims stand as they are.

The earlier you release something, the likelier it gets covered. Very late — or after the fact — tell the organizer directly so they can plan around it.

In a split household

A sign-up belongs to the household that made it. If your family’s commitment is split across two households, the app will tell you when a sign-up “was made by your family’s other household” — only they can change or cancel it. You can see it; you just can’t undo their plans for them.
