Find your way around

A tour of the home screen and main menu — where each feature lives, why names differ between schools, and light and dark mode.

When you sign in, you land on your school’s home screen — recent announcements, anything that needs your attention, and the main menu to everything else.

The main menu

Everything lives one tap away in the main menu. Depending on your school’s setup, you’ll see some or all of:

  • Announcements — official news from the parent organization and school.
  • Messages — your class and committee channels.
  • Service Hours (or your school’s name for it) — your family’s commitment and running tally.
  • Volunteering — opportunities and your shifts.
  • Calendar — what’s coming up, subscribable from your own phone.
  • Documents — shared files.
  • Knowledge Base — your school’s own how-we-do-things answers.

Why your menu might look different

Two reasons, both normal:

Your school picks its features. Schools turn Lumicura’s modules on and off. If a feature in these docs isn’t in your menu, your school hasn’t enabled it — that’s a school decision, not a glitch.

Your school picks its names. Schools can rename features to match their own programs — “Service Hours” might be “Share Program” or “Volunteer Credit” at your school. These docs always use the neutral name and note where your school may differ.

Your school’s colors, your choice of light or dark

The app wears your school’s colors. Separately, you can choose light mode, dark mode, or follow your device in your profile settings — your school sets the default, you can override it for yourself.

If you belong to more than one school

Families with children at two schools that both use Lumicura switch between them inside one account — see Switch between schools.
