Lead your committee

For chairs: the chair console — approving join requests, managing members and co-chairs, and the tools that hang off your committee.

Chairing a committee in Lumicura comes with a small console and a set of tools scoped to your committee — enough to run the thing without asking an admin for every little change.

The chair console

Open your committee and choose Chair console (it badges when requests are waiting). Two lists live there:

  • Join requests — everyone who’s asked in, with their note. Approve and they’re a member immediately — channel and all; Decline and the request closes quietly. Don’t leave people in “Requested” limbo; a same-week decision is part of the job.
  • Members — your roster, with when each joined. You can promote a member to co-chair (they get these same tools), demote a co-chair back, or remove someone whose season is done. Chairs themselves are appointed by the school, not from here.

The tools that come with the chair

Around the console, chairing unlocks committee-scoped versions of the everyday tools:

  • Your channel — the committee’s channel is yours to keep healthy; depending on your school’s settings, chairs also moderate their own committee’s channel.
  • Volunteer opportunities and sign-up sheets aimed at your committee — see Create a volunteer opportunity and Create and run a sign-up sheet.
  • Proposing service credit for your committee’s families — your entries go to the commitment officers’ approval queue, so the hours your members put in actually land on their tallies.

The parts that stay with the school

Creating committees, appointing and replacing chairs, and archiving a committee whose work is done are school-admin actions. If your committee needs a co-chair made chair, or its description is stale, that’s a request to your school admin.
